EMA Seminars: Expert Knowledge from international Experts – independent and Vendor-neutral
EMA regularly offers seminars with a workshop character on selected topics, to which we invite top-class international speakers. It is always important to us to be product-independent and vendor-neutral.
We first introduced our Mainframe for Managers course in 2012 and have since successfully conducted it over 20 times, both publicly and in-house. This vendor-neutral course provides a comprehensive overview of IBM mainframe technology, addressing both its benefits and drawbacks. To ensure neutrality, we deliberately do not employ IBM instructors for this seminar.

This training module provides in-depth knowledge of Db2 for administrators.
In this intensive program, the focus is on an efficient introduction to practical work with the z/OS operating system.
The goal of this module is to introduce participants to performance aspects in a Db2 environment.
This intensive program provides an efficient introduction to all aspects of the daily work with the z/OS operating system.
After an introduction to UNIX in the context of z/OS, including an overview of Unix System Services (USS) and the POSIX interface standard, this module provides a comprehensive understanding of USS functions, management, and practical usage.
This module teaches participants the modern Structured Query Language (SQL) within a Db2 for z/OS environment - from simple to complex.
CICS (Customer Information Control System) is IBM's online transaction processing (OLTP) program. Together with the COBOL programming language, it has established itself over the decades as the most widely used toolset for creating transaction-oriented applications in the mainframe computing environment of enterprise systems. A large number of the legacy applications still in use today are COBOL/CICS programs.
The goal of this module is to introduce participants to the fundamentals of network architectures in a mainframe z/OS environment.
The goal of this module is to teach participants how to install and maintain the z/OS operating system using SMP/E. Upon completion, participants will be able to independently install and maintain the operating system, as well as install, maintain, and uninstall products.
This module provides a foundational understanding of the Db2 for z/OS subsystem and is designed for Db2 administrators.
