Our Course Offerings
Here you will find our extensive training offer at a glance!
Our programs provide comprehensive and fundamental knowledge for specific IT roles such as the system operator. All programs can be completed with an EMA certificate.
The modules, in which you can build up specialist knowledge in a topic-focused manner, are the perfect complement to this.
Our seminars are conducted on-site in small groups of participants. This allows for a high degree of flexibility in designing the agenda to address the questions and needs of the participants.
A highly successful format with a well-balanced mix of mainframe history, modernity, theory, and practice, presented by a speaker duo that leaves no question unanswered and flexibly addresses the participants' topics of interest. Current topics and challenges such as modernization and AI are also covered and concretized with real-world examples.
The installation and maintenance of z/OS involves several key steps, including system planning, hardware and software configuration, and the actual installation.
After installation, system customization is an important step in tailoring the system to individual requirements.
Regular maintenance includes installing software updates, managing system resources, and performing backups.
Participants will learn how to use SMP/E as a tool for installation and maintenance, and gain hands-on experience with the SMP/E tasks required for installing and maintaining z/OS products.
The Modern Mainframe: Unlocking Potential Rather Than Just Modernizing
Everyone is talking about “Mainframe modernization.” Here at the European Mainframe Academy, we take it a step further: We are convinced that the Mainframe does not need to be modernized. The Mainframe is modern. Projects often fail because modernization is limited to the application level. Yet the key to true efficiency also lies in modernizing the system itself.
Together with experts from SQ Solutions, Living Mainframe, CROZ, InfoDesign, IBM, and EMA, as well as representatives from client companies, we take a comprehensive look at Mainframe modernization —from architectural and system considerations to modern application development, DevOps, and AI scenarios.
In our three-day intensive seminar, we’ll show you how to tap into hidden potential and reduce operating costs in the long term.
Previous experience with TSO/ISPF, writing JCL, and running batch jobs, as well as fundamental practical system skills.
This vendor-neutral course provides a comprehensive overview of IBM Mainframe technology, covering both its advantages and disadvantages. To ensure impartiality, we deliberately do not use IBM instructors for this seminar.
Knowledge of basic logic for procedural programming, as well as experience with TSO/ISPF, JCL, and SDSF
This module shows participants how an IBM Z Mainframe running z/OS can be connected to the outside world. It also explains the configurations of the various technologies and interfaces in the z/OS Communications Server.
