CICS Transaction Server for z/OS Fundamentals
CICS (Customer Information Control System) is IBM's online transaction processing (OLTP) program. Together with the COBOL programming language, it has established itself over the decades as the most widely used toolset for creating transaction-oriented applications in the mainframe computing environment of enterprise systems. A large number of the legacy applications still in use today are COBOL/CICS programs.
