Every two to three months, presence workshops are being conducted. Upon request these workshops take place in premises provided by the companies sending employees for training at EMA.

During these workshops

  • questions are answered, knowledge exchanged and applied
  • new input is taught
  • work prepared by the trainees presented
  • knowledge status assessed via tests (intermediate tests)
  • social contacts promoted and intensified

Trainings trainings conducted at the IBM lab in Böblingen or at the IBM research centre in Rüschlikon, Switzerland complement these on-site workshops, allowing for an intense exchange with the mainframe manufacturer.

Students also do appreciate visits to the IBM Museum where historical computers and devices like the punched-card reader or the chain printer are being shown in operating mode.
