“Learning, communication, information, knowledge management – independent of time and place, combined with the exchange of experience and face-to-face teaching sessions …”
Sauter und Bender, Definition Blended Learning
In a close exchange with science and industry the EMA I European Mainframe Academy developed a very successful approach to professional training in the Mainframe environment.
The exceptional framework of the innovative, extra-occupational EMA training concept is based on the the multifaceted opportunities featured by Blended Learning, composing e-learning, hands-on training on a Mainframe training server, presence workshops and of course very experienced, engaged and competent lecturers from industrial and scientific sectors.
Our Mainframe expert training infrastructure features several components:
At the core of it all: The training server coordinates all activities.
Conducting workshops every two or three months while intensively supervising the trainees via e-learning in the meantime proved to be the perfect idea. The idea of alternating presence workshops and virtual classroom sessions became the well tested foundation of the EMA training concept.
The EMA concept of blended learning offers many advantages:
cost efficiency for all involved
job-related extra-occupational basic and continuing training
few absences from work because of few presence workshops
independent of place and time
self directed study and study pace
individual study methods
flexibility and sustainability
